Connect to Nexa

A gateway token ties this PC to your Nexa account. You create it in Nexa and paste it into the app once.

Create the gateway in Nexa

In the Nexa portal, with an account that may edit assets:

  1. Open Assets and pick one of the machines this PC will read.
  2. Open its Live tab and click Machine link settings.
  3. Under 1. Edge gateway, give the gateway a name that says where it is (“Line 2 PC”, “Press shop”) and click Add gateway.
  4. Copy the token. It starts with nxg_.

Paste the token

Open Nexa Edge from the Start menu on the plant PC (as an administrator) and stay on tab 1. Nexa:

  1. Click Paste next to Gateway token. Tick Show if you want to check it.
  2. Leave Nexa address as it is: https://nexa.com.tn/api/telemetry.
  3. Click Test connection to Nexa.

The token is saved encrypted for this PC. Then continue with Machine data.

Test results

The app saysWhat to do
Connected to gateway “name”: N tag(s) linked to machines. It works. 0 tags is normal on a new gateway: you link them in Tags and signals.
Can’t reach Nexa (…). Check the internet connection. The PC cannot open https://nexa.com.tn. Check the internet connection, the plant firewall or proxy for outbound port 443, and the Nexa address.
Nexa refused this token. Create a new one on the machine’s Live tab in Nexa. The token was mistyped, cut short, or belongs to a gateway that was removed. Add a new gateway and paste its token.
This Nexa account’s plan doesn’t include machine telemetry. The token is right but the plan has no telemetry. Contact Nexa to add it. The gateway keeps what it reads until then.

One gateway per PC

One gateway reads every machine of the plant it can reach, even across several OPC UA servers, so you normally need one per plant PC, not one per machine. For the other machines, open their Live tab and link their tags: the gateway you already created is listed there.
